Vent away hun ... sounds like you need to.
I have a fast and firm rule. I never, NEVER loan money to a friend. I will help if I can but NEVER will I loan ... that way if someone feels like paying me some money at some point it's a pleasant surprise rather than a destroyed friendship over non-payment of a loan.

I saw (and met) Neil Innes in Alnwick back in September and he's excellent! Sadly I haven't seen much of the Rutland Weekend Songbook - only the bits I've found on YourTube (long may they stay there!).
